What you will do:

Responsible for the daily activities associated with servicing consumer and residential loan portfolios. Responsible for the completion of accurate transactions. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and with bank’s policies and procedures. Embrace and deliver Sterling National Bank’s brand values and core competencies in everyday interaction. Required Skills

  • Minimum associated degree with an emphasis in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of consumer and residential mortgage lending operations a plus.

  • Exceptional problem solving and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.

  • Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills,

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite (excel, word, outlook, etc.)

Required Experience

  • Responds to Customer, Financial Center (FC), SOS, internal Call Center, as well as external Sub Servicer Customer Service inquires and complaint phone calls in addition to internal Service Requests relating to residential mortgage, and consumer loans, including billing errors, system updates, documentation retrieval, advance requests and payment processing in a respectful and courteous manner within established SLA’s.

  • Assures that financial transactions are accurately reflected on the banks books which financially impact the Bank

  • Responsible for department general ledger daily and monthly reconciliations

  • Post the HELOC balance daily from vendor reports for FC use

  • Responsible for the calculation and payment of Recording fees and Mortgage Tax and timely filing of the mortgages with the County on new real estate loans as applicable.

  • Accurately maintaining the Collateral Tracking spreadsheet for all portfolio real estate loans to ensure the Banks filing position in the event of default. Follow up with vendor and County Clerk’s Office on any aged items outstanding

  • Ensures that all posting rejected items are posted accurately and borrower received credit for their payment within the established SLA this includes research and complete corrections with BTEs and general ledger transaction. Ensures all rejected HELOC advances are posted to reflect the correct effective date to ensure accurate interest income due to the Bank.

  • Works with collateral files from the vault to provide necessary documents for research and for sub servicing vendor

  • Provide management with the information for accurate posting of HELOC advances

  • Process payments received through the mail or internally from the collections department to ensure borrower has received timely and proper credit for their payment. As well as collecting, verifying and compiling payments from the FC’s to be sent to sub servicer for posting

  • Research and accurately label Homeowners Insurance Policies to be sent to sub servicer for timely processing and updating on the sub servicer core system

  • Research and prepare Satisfactions and Vehicle lien releases as requested by attorney’s , title company and borrower request

  • Responsible for accurately posting the advance and recoveries with agency loans (FHLMC & FNMA)

  • Work with Core System relating to consumer loans within established SLAs to ensure accurate input and funding of new loans
